We went to Bobby and Emiline's (Chris' grandparents) this weekend, and had a great time, it is always so much fun down there!  They are so sweet to us and always make us feel so welcome.  Everyone was down there, and the guys played golf and all that fun stuff, so we all had a good time.  There was a little bit of an event when Sylvia, Dave and Sydney's dogs went missing for several hours!  It turned out great though, b/c a neighbor (who lived quite a ways away) ended up finding the dogs.  So, Pepper and Nikki were safe.  Caden was so excited when we found them, he was helping us look, that's for sure!  It was good seeing everyone!  And here are lots of pictures from the weekend!

Chris and Caden got me money to get a mani/pedi and get my spray tanning done.  Yay!  Oh and Caden made me a cake at daycare on Friday, along with a coupon for a free haircut.  And my mom got me the cutest purse EVER (thank you!!!)

When I say I have the best mom in the whole wide world, I am right! 

Truly, she is the sweetest, most caring, will do anything for anyone, kind of person.  She has been there for me through the good times and the bad, and no matter what, I know she'll always love me.  She is beautiful and I love how much we are so alike.  I really am a carbon copy of her, we are exactly alike in all things that we do.  I swear, she knows me better than I know myself, which is hilarious.  I love how she loves magazines and books, if you need a book, she's got it!  I love her determination to stay healthy and how much she loves to do her nails.  She is smart, and is hard-working, sometimes I have to tell her to slow down and just relax.  When I say she thinks of everyone before herself, I really really really mean that.  She goes out of her way to make sure everyone else is fed, or everyone else is taken care of before she even thinks about feeding or taking care of herself. 

Sure, she was late a few times to my country western dances in elementary school (always arriving in her heels and skirt), but she always made it.  She's so beautiful inside and out, and I love my mom so much!  Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you!

confessions of a shopaholic

I just finished reading Confessions of a Shopaholic the other night and oh my gosh, is it ever hilarious!  Actually it's quite funny because not only do we share the same name, (although, she goes by Becky most of the time), we share so many of the same thoughts!  It's a British comedy novel, and Becky Bloomwood is exactly what the title of this book states, she's a shopaholic.  Not that she can afford it, but she thinks of every trick in the book in order to be able to buy herself clothes, shoes, purses, food, coffee, magazines, you name it!  I have to admit, I have a bit more self-control than she does, being that I am married with children and can't spend every dime I make on myself, but the thoughts that go through her mind are eerily similar to my own.  (ha ha!) 

If you haven't heard of this series by Sophie Kinsella, you must check it out!  I just started the next one, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, and so far, so good!

football again?!

Last night, Caden fell asleep earlier than I expected (like 7:30, woah!) and so, I wasn't even able to give him a bath or put him in his pajamas and change him out of the clothes he had worn to school.  I knew he would probably wake up around 9 or so and I was right!  So, when he woke up, I changed his pull-up and put a pair of pajama shorts on him.  Well, he looks down at his shirt with the funniest look on his face, and says "football again?!"  It was hilarious!  He looked at me as though to say, "how dare you put me in my football shirt for school and to wear to bed, LOL.  He didn't realize that he had only been asleep for an hour or so!  He cracks me up!

I wanted to share some pictures of our new apartment!  It's still a little bare, but we're working at hanging up all of the pictures and getting everything set up.  We still haven't gotten our couch yet, so we're using a loveseat as the couch for the time being.  And in these pictures, I was washing Caden's bedding, so don't worry, he doesn't sleep on the bare mattress!  And I am in the middle of re-doing our room too, I know I need a bedskirt.  Bear with me!  (haha!)

update from the weekend

We've had a busy last few days, so I thought I would update in one post! 

Friday night, we went to movie night at Caden's daycare - they had a huge projector set up outside and we watched Alvin and the Chimpmunks.  (which by the way, is hilarious - we are going to rent it, I want to watch it again!)  They had pizza and popcorn, and all the kids got to play, it was a lot of fun!  Plus, the weather was gorgeous, so it made for a perfect setting for everyone to be outside! 

Also, we moved into our new apartment this weekend!  Unfortunately we didn't get the house due to some of the things I explained, but that's ok - it just means it wasn't meant to be!  But, we moved into our apartment (thanks Mom and Dad for helping us move!) and we've pretty much gotten everything unpacked.  Chris' mom watched the boys yesterday, so that was a huge help, we were able to get everything in pretty quickly!  (thanks Elaine!)  Chris' dad also helped Chris set up the washer/dryer after my mom and I had been to Home Depot several times trying to get the right parts!  (thanks Will!) 

I still have a ton of laundry to do and Chris is going to hang pictures and mirrors and all that fun stuff up tonight.  Oh and thanks to Aunt Vivian, Caden slept in his own big boy bed!  (he and Gavin are sharing a room)  I was so proud of him, I was shocked that he just laid right down and fell asleep!  And he didn't wake up once, it was great!  (hopefully it will stay that way.. lol)  It's really nice though - lots of room and it's super clean, which of course is really important to me!  We have our own washer/dryer in the apartment, so that is good.  The pool and workout facility are right next to our building, so that's a huge plus as well!  My new camera broke (can you believe it?!) so I will take pictures just as soon as I can!

It's May!  Wow, I feel like it was only a few days ago that I was coming up with my New Years Resolutions, lol.  But, May means that summer is just around the corner, and who doesn't love summer!
